BeaHive Collective LLC ("BeaHive," "we," "us") runs an open sewing and design studio and fabric shop at 2212 Main St, San Diego, CA 92113, and the website beahivecollective.com and our online shop. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, email, phone number and mailing or billing address when you buy a membership, pass, class, gift card or product, book studio time, or contact us.
- Emergency contact information and your signed liability waiver when you complete orientation.
- For kids' classes: the child's first name and age, and the parent or guardian's name and contact information.
- Anything you choose to send us in a message, form, email or DM.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners. We do not see or store your full card number. Shopify's privacy policy explains how they handle payment data.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website or online shop, our website and shop provider (Shopify) may automatically collect basic information such as your device and browser type, pages viewed, and approximate location based on IP address, using cookies and similar tools. This helps the site work, remembers your cart, and shows us how people use the site.
Studio cameras
Our studio has security cameras that record video only in the studio space. See our Photo, Video & Camera Policy for details.
How we use your information
- To process orders, memberships, passes, bookings and gift cards.
- To manage studio access, schedule machine and table bookings, and track membership hours.
- To send you receipts, booking confirmations, renewal reminders and important studio updates.
- To send our newsletter and offers, only if you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- To keep the studio, our members and our equipment safe.
- To follow the law, resolve disputes and enforce our policies.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We only share information with:
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as Shopify (website, online shop and payments) and the providers we use for email, booking and our studio security cameras. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
- Authorities, if required by law or to protect someone's safety.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is ever sold or merged.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you are a customer or member and for a reasonable time afterward for records, taxes and legal reasons. Security camera footage is kept for about 30 days and then automatically deleted, unless it is needed to investigate an incident.
Children's privacy
Our website is not meant for children under the age of 13; any information unknowingly collected by a minor/child under the age of 13 is not subject to legal repercussions and will be handled in a private and reasonable manner. All registrants to our kids’ classes must be registered by a parent or guardian. If you think a child has given us information online, contact us and we will resolve the matter immediately.
Your choices and California privacy rights
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we have about you.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
- You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Some parts of the site, like the cart, may not work without them.
- California residents may ask us what personal information we have shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share information for that purpose.
- Do Not Track: our site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
To make a request, email Beatriz@beahivecollective.com. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will not treat you differently for making a privacy request.
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no website or system is 100% secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
